During our Sunday worship at 10:30am...

• Babies through Kindergarten are welcome at 10:15 am for age-graded Sunday school in the children’s hall with check in at the help desk.

• First through Fifth graders will attend the singing portion of worship service, then are dismissed to their Sunday school.

 Parent's Informational Letter: May 23, 2010

Dear Parents,                                                                                                                       

We are ending our current school year and will be entering a new one soon. Our move up date is August 8, 2010 to coincide with Gwinnett County’s first day of school. Children who are changing classes will be greeted by their new teachers and given a “Welcome” class to introduce them to the upcoming curriculum and events for the 2010-2011 school year. We are so excited about this growth and the age specific learning that will take place. We have a new policy. The children will not be released to attend their classes until they are dismissed in the service. This will allow teachers to get to classrooms ahead of the children.

Here is a little bit about the curriculums by age group:

Pre K/K: Will begin a curriculum by Children Desiring God studying the He Has Spoken By His Son: New Testament stories for young children.

First and Second Grade: Will study the Children Desiring God curriculum, Jesus, what a Savior! A study for children on redemption.

Third Grade: These children will be studying the Children Desiring God curriculum In the Beginning Jesus, which shows the path of Jesus to the cross from before the foundations of the world.

Forth and Fifth Grade: Will be studying a Children Desiring God curriculum, My Purpose Will Stand:  A study for children on the Providence of God.

The Bible We Use: In our 1^st through 5^th grade classes, we will be using the NIrV translation. This is the NIV for young readers and can be found at LifeWay.

How You Can Help: We will be sending home parent sheets each week which summarize the lesson and have a scripture memory verse. Please partner with us by helping your child with his memory verse. They have the opportunity to recite them the following week in class for credit. 

Mission Sundays: Are another new element of our curriculum. These are very exciting. Once every 12 weeks we will have missionaries coming in to teach our children about their ministries and ways that the children can become involved in reaching the world for Christ and His glory. This upholds the church’s desire to “Glorify God by making disciples of all nations.”

Family Sundays: During months which have a 5^th Sunday, the children ages 1^st grade an above will be worshipping with their parents in the main service. We will be getting them involved in some acts of service during the meeting and encouraging them to see the “big church” as their church too.
